Toddlers (2-3 years)

At K & S Angels Day Nursery we recognise that every day creates new and exciting learning opportunities for your child, whether it is learning to share toys or toilet training. Within our toddler room we are helping to support our children to grasp these learning opportunities and gain a sense of pride in their achievements.

We  provide your child with plentiful opportunities to experience and explore their growing world. We encourage them to express their unique personalities by nurturing each individual child’s interests and stages of development, this is used to impact and inform our planning. We encourage you as parents to contribute to our planning by sharing your child’s interests from home and achievements they have made or are working towards.

Our knowledgeable practitioners then support and extend children’s ideas sensitively using reassurance and effective questioning to further develop your child’s knowledge and understanding.

The greatest element of learning is through play, ensuring that all our children are happy. This creates a fun atmosphere with laughter and learning.

Our toddlers are introduced to new skills, as simple as feeding themselves or pouring drinks, which they get lots of help and guidance with and which you can do at home too. A sense of independence is what we’re aiming for, which gives your child such a great feeling of achievement as they master new skills.

We are lucky at K & S Angels to have such a great outdoor space and we use it to make sure that the learning that takes place inside continues outdoors too. All the learning areas of the EYFS are represented in the garden, whilst also allowing our toddlers to move around more, explore nature first hand and develop their imaginations. 

Children love routine; it makes them feel safe. So our days have regular activities which provide this stability but in a fun and stimulating way, with stories, songs, group times, mealtimes, outside play and activity times.
